Best Places to Live 2007: Most singles
What do you think of the places on this year’s Most Singles list? Which are your favorite towns? Would you consider moving to one of them? What do you think makes a place great to live and date? Tell us what you think. The best replies will be published here, and possibly in a future story on CNNMoney.com.
I am a young single female working professional turning 53 and have lived in S. Florida for 10 years. Lots of singles, however, where is the quality?
I’d like to find a commuity to move to where I can find a connecting support group of singles?
I’m interested, too! I’m 52, no kids, college educated. I tried Anacortes, WA, but everyone here is either 30 or 80.
I agree with those who have posted about finding the best places for over 50 singles. It seems the that only the under thirty crowd is ever taken into consideration.
I would like to know where all the best places are for over 50 single women. At this age men become a bit more scarce!
hmmm places for 50+ seems to be a hot topic. Wherere the answers and suggestions. Times a flittin, help us out!!! - pokee
I am a baby boomer and heading towards 59 this year and looking to relocate. Most of you lists deal with college towns and cities dealing with the 20’s group…what about the boomers who are single? Where are the best towns for them?
Im single, no kids, 28yrs old, and looking for a new place to relocate. I live Chicago, and although its a fabalous city, they weather is just not doing it for me anymore. Im looking for warmer weather, great job opportunities, great people to meet….what’s your suggestion?
Hello-
I am 37 and feel out of your loop as an attractive, single with a private university education. What are the best oprtions for singles in my age group???
Please Help!
Best place for people over 50 is The Villages in Lady Lake, Florida. It’s near Ocala. They have the best lifestyle for active adults. I’m not old enough to live there yet, but one day I’ll be there. It’s fantastic.
I moved to Denver, Colorado since 2002 and the single scene and options are disappointing. I am a very attractive woman turning 40, but the average guess of my age is late twenties. I feel as though I am wasting away living here and am interested in finding a great beach city that is inhabited with successful, professional singles. I would like to marry so am not interested in a town that just plays around. Any suggestions?
Easiest to meet people when doing things you enjoy most. So, the answer is different for everyone. Also, best when there’s a mix of ages (applies to some but not all college towns). I avoid anything age or use restricted, e.g. over 55 community, income restrictions (positive or negative) on housing, what kind of car can be in your driveway, etc.
Over 50 and loving Atlanta, GA. Lots of singles stuff, if you want to date great men, then, I don’t know where to go, but lots of stuff to do for singles over 45 and 50. I am single and happy, but it is hard to find that special someone, but you can still go out and have a great evening with other singles. No problem
I’m 45, single, never married, no children, attractive, college educated. Living in West Los Angeles, CA. I have loved the great weather, beautiful people who never want to get old. Never a boring moment. But I can’t afford it any more.
the best place with most singles seem to of course be where there are colleges. I went to school in oxford, ohio at Miami and really for age group i am in now i wouldn’t want to live there.
I know of many single (divorced, widowed, never married) folks in their mid 50’s to mid 60’s that are looking to live in an area where there is a sense of community in their age range. They want still active, and not places where they have no people within their age and activity range.
I wonder why Destin,FL 32541 did’nt show up anywhere? This area is wonderful. Plenty of great fishing, sun, and friendly people. Healthcare is equally plentiful, and the doctors are top-notch.
I also don’t want to buy a house in the middle of all marrieds, 20 somethings. I can’t afford the million dollar houses in CA. I’m a single boomer and want to spice it up.
With the area of the Baby Boomers coming to fruition, yes, where is the list for those of us over 50?!
looking for that group of single people late 30’s to late 40’s not early 20’s. college towns are obvious. what about us?
Just looking at your list, I knew that it only applied to young people. Like many who have submitted a response. Singleness has no age restrictions. Statistics show that a vast majority of ‘ baby boomers ‘ are liginv the single life. Did you know that?
Your singles list is not helpful - I am looking to relocate and am considering moving to an area where I can meet someone in their 40’s. As someone else pointed out, the college towns are of course in the high percentage of singles. But where is the list for singles over 24??
it seems that your list of singles reflects young singles or college age students. It must be difficult to seperate older generation of single from young ones. It would be interesting to know where the “older generation is” from age 55 and up.
List reflects numbers, not quality. Eligibility counts more. Do you really want to go searching for your mate in Hoboken???
I’m over 55 years old and single, and I don’t think your list of the top 25 single places to live is broken down by age. I wonder where the age group of over 50 but under 70 are living. Have you done an review of this.

I just came upon this blog and could not help but howl! Yes folks, I to am 47, never married, no children, enjoy my life, live in Burbank, CA and love it! I relocated from Campbell in northern CA which was nice but Burbank is warm, fun with lots to do, close to attractions, affordable and single guys in all age and culture groups. I would put Burbank on the list for 40+.
